Mirabel Lavelle, a devoted grandmother and passionate educator from Sunderland, has turned a heartfelt promise to her grandchildren into a meaningful project: the creation of a children’s book that educates readers about the dangers of allergies. Inspired by the challenges faced by her two grandsons, who suffer from severe milk and nut allergies, Lavelle wrote and self-published Zeb, Jet, and the Ice-Cream Calamity, a book she hopes will not only entertain but also save lives.
