1. Workshops for children –  KS1 and KS2

I deliver interactive children’s workshops about allergy safety awareness in schools, libraries, and at children’s venues.

The digital presentation includes a beautifully illustrated story, a song, and differentiated tasks such as creating a cartoon strip, a detective game, arts and crafts, and play-acting.

The text inside the book has blue, cream, and light green washes as a background, which makes it easier for people with Dyslexia to read.

I can incorporate hand puppets for children who find it easier to relate to my fox cub and puppy characters by handling a soft toy.

All the above elements are intended to make my story accessible to as many children as possible. The tasks are set against the National Curriculum Reading Vipers.

Total Same-Day Packages

 Half-day packages

The total same-day package includes a starter assembly, 2 KS2 workshops, a break for lunch, and then 2 KS1 workshops. Following the sessions, there will be a meet the author and book signing opportunity for children and parents. The day will finish with a voluntary CPD session for staff to discuss matters around allergy safety awareness.

The starter assembly will include a digital presentation with an introduction to the book and a large group activity that centres around the topic of Allergies.

The half-day package includes two sessions which would be 1 KS2 workshop and 1 KS1 workshop, meet the author, and book signing opportunity. A half day would either be a morning or an afternoon only.

With both packages, the school can purchase a book bundle at a reduced rate when purchased on the day.

If parents could be informed of my visit that would be ideal, so they are aware of the meet the author opportunity.

Digital versions of activity handouts will be emailed to the school before the event so you can print the necessary amount for your students An information sheet for additional school resources and support, including links to sites that I find helpful will also be emailed to the school.
