Workshop: Creating Animated Adventure Stories. St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School, Newcastle upon Tyne.
I just wanted to thank you once again for coming into the class and talking to the children about being an author. We all had such a lovely morning and it was wonderful to see the process of writing and illustrating a book.
The reading, demonstrations of the writing process, and work on illustrations provided a wonderful experience for the children. They particularly enjoyed coming
up with new ideas for their own stories and designing unique characters and settings.
It was inspiring to see their excitement as they explored story planning and the behind-the-scenes aspects of creating a book. The children were very inspired by
your work and they were very keen to finish their story plans.
We continued the task of designing and illustrating a story board the next morning and they have come up with some wonderful ideas and I wondered if you would like to
pop in some time after half term to see what the groups have designed?

A Special Visit from Author Ms. Mirabel Lavelle
On Friday, 4th October, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Mirabel Lavelle, a former pupil and now an author, back to our school to meet our Year 3 students. She shared her journey, from her love of reading here to becoming a writer. During her visit she engaged the children with fun questions about reading and a game about food allergens .
The students were captivated as Ms. Lavelle read her story, using beautiful illustrations on the big screen , followed by a lively sing-along . She even signed copies of her book for those who wanted a special keepsake.
We’re so grateful for her inspiring visit! Thank you Ms Lavelle
